Why can I not hear anything in the Pronunciation Practice activity in Chrome browser? (Windows)

If you are experiencing an issue with no or low sound in Pronunciation Practice while using Chrome browser then these steps may help.

  1. Right click on the Speaker icon for Windows in the bottom right and select Recording Devices.
  2. Select the Communications tab.
  3. Select Do Nothing.
  4. Click Apply and then OK.
  5. Right click on the Speaker icon for Windows in the bottom right and select Open Volume Mixer.
  6. Increase the volume for the Chrome browser back to a suitable level.
